Prize giving 2012!

Every year we have prize giving we have different years group.We all had some brilliant moves and songs to dance. Everyone's was great but the most I liked was the year eights and year sevens. It was a great night performing in front of adults and others. The librarians each had a trophy it was small and cute also it was with a certificate. Jouan Taeshell and I got one! It was so awesome. With everybody. 

Netbook Reflection 2012

When I was a year 1 student and first started at Pt England I was asking the teacher about everything. But now as I am a year six I ask Google instead! I have learned so many new things about net-books for the past 2 years. Since I have my net-book I always finish on time and always have cared of my netbook.

I really enjoyed my net-book this year because it has absolutely helped me with all sorts of stuff. It is way better than using paper and pencils because with paper and pencils you have have to ask the teacher for something, (like our work!) Rather with netbooks if you need help you can just ask Google or email, You could learn create and share anywhere you are.

Things I get frustrated with are that sometimes it takes too long to connect to the internet, often some pages pop up where it says kill pages, which is mostly on chrome. Our netbooks can be weak in the hinges and that if we drop our net-book it'll get a crack or something on it. The webcam and sound isn't as high quality as I would like either.

Overall its perfect and awesome. Net-books have changed my learning so much than using pens and papers! Next year I hope to see some changes. Thank You to everyone for helping get us netbooks!

Twins?

Well you know what was funny at school while everyone was at camp? Well if you don't know this is what my story is going to be about.

The funniest thing was that we all were searching up thing that would be funny and someone found a photo of this guy with Mohawk and as you know that chickens have them too. Also it was the same colour orange! So then the tittle was called twins?

"That is cool" said a girl. But it actually is kind a funny. But we seriously loved it so we started to write about it.

Yay!

“Yay school is finishing for six weeks shouts a girl”. Well only one and a half week left for school. “You know what I am going to for the long holidays I am just sleeping and sleeping and sleeping ” says Jouan. “Me too” said Mya! for six weeks! really I said.

I just can't wait till school finishes because so much other things a coming like Christmas, Also boxing day sale! Actually it will be fun but also we would miss this year!

Soldiers Fail!

Laughing like a mad crazy person while watching this youtube video. All my cousins were looking at me like, 'What on earth is she up to?' “Guys, come over here!” I shouted across the room. I really wanted to show them this movie!

They all had laughed as well. “That’s funny as!” one of my cousins choked while laughing too hard. “Shut up!” my little brother screams, trying to focus on his homework. “You guys laugh at dry stuff!”

By the way, if you haven’t already watched this video, there were two soldiers walking across the road. Though they seemed to fail, as they slid down the slope and face planted.

Well they might have not known that they were being filmed. Also they had totally lost their minds. Well I bet when you watch it you will also laugh madly as I did. We had an awesome time watching this video and it surely made my day!

Lily's Dream

“Come on pack you bags” said Mum, We have to leave because dads waiting for us. You know his anger! Do we have to go? says lily. Obviously because it is dads surprise. Now come on.

Dad is so excited that he mostly takes our whole house. Oh seriously does dad have to take so many thing. Mum says “do you think I know where he's taking us for our holiday”. Lilly keeps playing her video game. Wow says mum. What are beautiful beach. Lilly says “hey that Pt England School reserve”.

Dad says “I know, We will be doing fishing and finding food here and will live here for three days”. But how are we going to swim across the other side of the river to check some stuff out. Says Lily “ Yeah she is right” Said Mum. “There's no boats and plus it is really deep down there”.

First lets put our tents up and get the fire going. Lilly goes dose the tent. “Read the instruction dear” says Mum. Lilly says “ I'm so cool to read the instruction”. So she seriously does the tent looking like a tangled wire. Help shouts Lilly. Mum and dad come rushing towards them and says “dear are you aright!” So they all help with the tent.

So they get everything ready. “all set to go says dad. Yummy says lilly a barbecue tonight. After they finished eating. They all went inside the tent all talked and went to sleep. There were some noises of these strange things. Lilly was so not afraid to go outside and see what it was. It was a ghost with red eyes. OMG!!! she shouted but they were all sleeping.

Suddenly she fainted right there. Mum woke up and looked for lilly. What she was sleeping in the sand Said mum. She splashed water on her. she acted all weird and really different that she was trying to escape the beach. Once when mum and dad went looking for food. She had escaped the beach. Mum and dad came back. Lilly where are you there said. Dad looked around the whole beach but she wasn't there.

They had packed their bags and were about to leave. Until the saw this girl on the sand sitting alone, Mum thought she was Lilly and she went up to her. But she was the ghost staring at mum. She then realised that is was lilly’s dream... She was so scared and began to force dad if they could leave. Dad agreed and they went home...
     

Fred And the Toys!!

I always wished that my toys could come alive. Suddenly, Fred had put a camera on by his toy section place. As always, when Fred goes to sleep the toys magically come alive on Zip Zap Avenue. Surprisingly, they had come alive and felt awkward even though no one was there.

They felt awkward as if someone had put a camera to spy on them! They got the tallest toy and got the fattest toy and the fat one had lifted the tall one up. They grabbed the camera and had chucked it on the floor as many times as they could and then the camera broke.

They had enjoyed their whole night partying and then they had became so tired that they had slept. Also Fred had woken up before they went back to being toys so Fred had seen the toys sleeping. They were snapped! They were all feeling guilty, afraid and nervous because Fred hated liars!

But the toys were wrong because Fred had wished that the toys could talk. He had always used his time on the toys to share his feelings. They had an awesome time together and never felt left out.

My Brother Ahmed

You know that we have an iPad, so you might even know how annoying my brother Ahmed is! He is very chubby and he is so smart. He makes fun of people and says” Hi” to random people.

Sitting down to play on the iPad, Ahmed saw me sit down and wanted to go on the iPad so he started to cry and pull my hair until I gave the iPad to him. After a while, he wanted to watch Bob the Builder, so he came to me and tried to be cute. Obviously, I then went on YouTube and played Bob the Builder for him.

The New Topic... Toy Story

As I took the first step inside the class, I look at the topic board. I was shocked that we were learning about toy story. I was happy that we were learning about toy story. I actually didn't mind. I was depressed to go to immersion assembly.

Soon as we all sat down. We all saw other teachers dressed up in costumes. I could not wait until the teachers were up on stage! Some of the teachers were funny like Mrs Barks was barbie and Mr Barks was ken. With a weird hairstyle. My favorite performance was Team one and team three’s.

Studdy-Ladder

Yay! I shouted, Studdy ladder reading is back. I am so happy that we are using Studdy-ladder back. We had stopped using Studdy-ladder because we had reading eggs-press. Mr Somerville has already gave us some activities.

So every group had mostly ten activity to do before Friday. I am in pandas. We have to do at least two a day. Every one is so happy that we have it back!

My Birthday

"Hey, You forgot my birthday? Oh come on." OH seriously it is easy. 30th September. Even my friends know. Like Jouan And Dhara and Mya. Sometime I get so excited that I sometimes scream !!!! I know heaps peoples birthday's Like Jouan's one is on 17th September and Obviously No one but the really annoying and funny Teacher Mr S's one is on  the 28th Of August.

Yay! Mrs Wood is back!!!

Well you must know Mrs Wood? Well I had been in her class when I was a year 2. Sadly I couldn't be with her for a long time. Because she had a baby. Luckily we had Mrs Apted. But for now we should celebrate that Mrs Wood is back!

She is my favorite teacher! Because she is very kind also very polite. Most of all the funnies was that I always use to win when we had a hand-writing competition. Even though I never realised!

I am so glad that Mrs Wood is back. I really want to be in her class again because I love being in my old teachers classes again and again. I can not wait till I meet her. Mrs Wood You're The Best!!!

Yes!

Do you know why I’m so excited, I am excited because we got an white ipad. We bought it from bond + bond. We finally got it because my dad kept saying he will get it? but I say when!

I always play games and do my marking on there. It is easy to do stuff like maths practise because we just need to write it on our maths book. I also do stuff that i’m behind on.

I am really happy that my dad bought it. Because it is really usefull doing work also playing games. Mostly we can take photos and change them around.

Sneezing

Do you know how often you have a sneeze? Well my story is about sneezing. You know when you sneeze the sneeze blows out about a centimetre long. So I think we probably have to put our hands over our mouth. So it doesn't spread around.

You might be wondering why we get sneezes? It might be that you have an allergy to something or you might have got it from another person. We have to really be careful. Sometimes we get really sick because of it.

When we sneeze we should always put our hand over our mouth. We blow out snorts and much more stuff. So I think that if you at least try to cover your mouth when you sneeze!

The only way you could stop it is to put your hands over your mouth. So that other people won’t get it and that we won't be sick.

Sarah Walker

Have you heard about Sarah Walker? She is a New Zealand BMX rider. She has won silver from coming second in BMX in the London Olympic games. I chose this athlete because she is very brave and accurate when she is riding her BMX bike.

Wow, did you know she has won seven races? She was a favourite to win the BMX women's event at the 2008 Beijing olympics. However, she had came fourth. Her birthday is on July the 6th, 1988. Sarah Walker came second in one race and Sarah Walker was ranked number one in the world by the UCI in 2008.

As well as competing in BMX events around the world. Walker has also been a sports Ambassador for beef + Lamb New Zealand since 2008. She is a sponsored rider for avanti bikes using their lines ABD BMX bikes when racing.

Do you know what to do in BMX? Well it is something which you ride on. Have you ridden one? Are you even scared of hearing about it? I am scared!

The NZ Shot-Put Champion

Did you know that Valerie Adams has just been awarded from a silver to gold, Because Nadzeya Ostapchuk had took steroid’s so that she could come first place and to throw it further. Luckily the judges had caught her from the drug test.

Valerie Adams has won so many Medals. She is a very famous shot put player for New Zealand and she is a unbeatable shot put champion . We are so proud to be New Zealanders!

Have You Heard Of...

Have you heard of Ramadan. Well all the Muslim people have about three special days. Which they celebrate. They are Ramadan and Eid Mubarak.

Ramadan is thing which you fast for a month. Meaning you have to wake up early like 05:00 and eat till after 05:41. So you brush your teeth and have water. After that you cant have anything. We have the fast till about five o'clock at night

I love celebrating Eid Mubarak because I love eating  the yummy things like barfie laddo and much more. 

Trying Out Reading Eggspress

Have you heard of Reading Eggspress? Well first when I heard about it, I was so Excited to learn more about it because I love reading. Do you?

When Mr Somerville finally let us go on it we all were silent. We all wanted to try fiddling with everything, but we only had seven minutes till home time.

My favorite part of Reading eggspress is when I do my comprehension gym. We all have about 10 comprehensions to do. There are seven things we have to complete.

I have noticed myself learning more from reading eggspress. Whenever I'm free I go on reading eggspress! You can try it our for yourself here.

life Ed

Finally the time had come. As soon as I knew that we were going to the life education caravan I was so excited. I was so excited because we were going to see and meet Harold and Lynn.

I really learnt a lot of things inside the life ed. We learnt that energy drinks have caffeine in them. Caffeine is something that is not good for your body at all. We watched a video about a boy called Alex who slept late and didn’t look after his tenana. Alex had a very bad day. What made his day so bad was that he left his lunch home, he didn’t have a good breakfast, Alex miss the bus, he couldn’t play soccer and he didn’t look after his body properly.   

My favorite part was learning about our body. The best game we played was that a player sits on a chair and another player gets one of the body parts and puts it on the wall. The player who sits on the chair has to guess what it is.

I love going to the life education caravan and learning cool facts about our body. Mostly we always go there after a year now! I can’t wait till next year to see harold again. We love you Harold!

My Olympic Story

Do you know much about Tennis? Well I really enjoyed searching stuff and finding out all about.    

Do you know all the sports in Olympics? Well I didn't know until I searched it up. There are heaps of sports they do. The olympics are being held in  London this year.

Did you know that Tennis was invented in France ..... we all know what tennis balls look like today a green and fuzzy ball, but have you ever thought what the first tennis balls were made of? Well it was made of wool or hair wrapped up in leather.

Tennis is played on a rectangular flat surface or on grass, hardcorut and concrete. Two people play at once. We use a racket and a tennis ball to play. The clothes you wear are  probably t-shirts and maybe shorts and shoes.

Have you seen people in wheelchairs play tennis? Well you know that people in wheelchairs can also play. It got started in 1976.

Playing Subway Surf

Have you heard of subway surf? Well once you start playing, belive me! You can never stop playing. You should have a turn playing it. You need an the latest version of an Ipod 4th generation or  an iPad or iphone to download it.

Subway surf is a game where you have an inspector running after you because you were caught tagging on train cars. Well, it is kind of like temple run because you have to collect coins.  You can get a high score if you beat your last score.

The fun thing about it is that you have a mission every time you finish one. You have to collect letters which complete a word while you're playing. This is called the daily challenge.

I enjoy playing subway surfers because it just has magic to get you inspired in it. Sometimes I can never beat my latest score.

Tennis

The Upcoming Event

Do you like Olympics? Well Pt England School theme is Go For Gold and the teacher had got prepared to the Immersion Assembly. There was a variety of different sports. Everyone is so excited to learn about it.

Mrs Barks was hosting and Mrs Lavakula was the famous boxer and Miss Tuala was the famous runner. I loved the team twos because it is really funny how Miss Lavakula boxed Mr Barks down.

One more thing, that I really enjoyed watching team fours movie because they were the divers and swimmers. It had Miss Garden, Mr Marks, Mr Somerville, and Mrs King, and Miss Ouano. The funny thing about Mr Marks was that he had a really giant hand! and he couldn't swim with it really. The worst thing was that Mr Marks even had a mohawk  on his head.

I really enjoyed being there watching the immersion assembly. It was really fun watching difference  of videos about olympics and learning more. I am looking forward to learn as much as different things in olympics.

The Playground

This is really my favorite picture in the Pt England Art Gallery. It is made by kaiden and called "my              

special place". The thing I love from this art work is the colors and it looks the same thing what he wanted to draw. To me it looks like the school play ground. Hope you like it is well!

My Hobby

    You might be wondering what this picture is? It is my hobby to be at least on a computer once everyday. I love finishing off stuff on computers because Mr Somevile gives us a whole lot of tasks we need to finish on our neetbooks every week!   This term I have made hyperstudio stacks that show animations of myself swimming.  Also animations about myself.

What I Think About My Teacher

Hmm, I think Mr Somerville is very funny and a little bit serious. He gives us heaps of work but then he lets us watch some videos from iTunes on his laptop. He is sometimes in a really generous mood to give us heaps of green cards. Sometimes if we work really well he puts some music on in class!

I think he is a person that's really happy and he loves it if we all do the right thing and whisper while we work. When he sometimes has a cold we have to be careful so he won't get grumpy! The only worst thing is if you don't finish your work he gives us school detentions! That's good that I never had a detention before!

Kiwi Kick

For the next four weeks we will be playing Aussie rules. It is a game from Australia which is played with a rugby looking ball. There were two people who came to our school to teach us some skills. The two people were Sam, who said we could call him sandwich, and Anita. They were so awesome playing aussie kick. We played with Room 17.


They taught us how to kick with the laces in the front, and holding the ball sideways. We had to chose a partner to play with. I was with Mya. We had to chose a space where we could work. The netball courts were crowded and a lot of people were running around so Mya and I chose a place on the field.

When we went the second day we were really excited to be there. We followed Anita to the shed and she said we were going to find three partners. I rushed quickly to find Giselle and Jouan. We were so happy that the three of us were together.

While we played the ball went all over the place! Anita blew the whistle and we all ran to where we were directed. It sounded like people stomping! We then said our thanks to Sam and Anita and headed back to our classrooms.

My Progress - Week 6

Here is my progress of my work this week so far.

 

Getting Hooked On To Art

We came down onto the mat when Mr Somervile called us. He showed us where we go to see the picasso art videos so we had some ideas during art. We all had some time looking at those videos.

It was so amazing and it also looked 3D as we had watched them. One of them were the best using spray cans and a lot of interesting colours were there. I just love the finishing off. The finishing off looked like a giant big moon.

This other one had a million pictures of Picasso's art. They were so interesting with the colors and a lot of nice things they had as well and the videos were really stunning and awesome too.

I really want to learn heaps of things from art and the drawing because that's one of my hobbies. And I was a so excited because we were learning about Art Alive.

Art Alive

The most exciting part of school is doing art! This team we were learning about art alive. We all love to draw things and paint and do all sort of thing with them. Coloring with lots of colorful colour and with heaps of laughter.

I have done some patterns from Fatu Feu'u. He is a very cool artist it has so much details in it. I like his female and male patten. This term I want to do heaps of art and learn heaps of things from it.

The Time Had Come

When the bell started ringing, everyone had started running into their class when we went through this hallway. When we got into class we finally saw the time when room sixteen would go swimming at the Pt England Aquatic Centre. When we went to school on monday we were really anxious because we wanted to go swimming straight away!

When Mr S told us were going swimming at 2:15 to 2:45 it took us five minutes to walk there. While we took our first step inside the pools it smelt like chlorine and chemicals. We went inside the changing rooms and quickly got changed and went to our pool. We first had a test to know which group we are in.

Me and Giselle were in number one because i'm a little short to go in the middle part... and I couldn't really swim! We had a lot of fun going there because the instructors name is Ben. It was the best!

Inside Holidays

My picture is about what I did in the long holidays. I have drawn the Panmure library because I was there for most of the time.

How was your holiday? Mine was super boring because I didn't go somewhere in the sun too much. I stayed inside, sometimes in the library or inside my house.  But I love spending time looking after my brother, mostly going to the library because it is peaceful and I enjoy reading books.

My Little Cute And Smart Brother!

As you know I have a little baby brother hes 1 year old. His birthday is on the 17 July. And when he was a little baby he was so cute! But now he's a bit fat then what he was. He's more chubby and he’s so smart. He’s so interested in electrical things especially like iPod and ipads and phone’s and laptops. Whenever i’m on the ipod he always takes it off me and goes plays talking Tom Cat And listen to Elmo song. And whenever he’s sleepy he makes us make him a bottle of milo. But he is so cute!

Pirate Story

Hello guess who I am. I have black hair and I have a parrot beside me. Do you know who I am? I'm a pirate, My name is Tinder and my noisy parrots name is Loud. We have worked about ten years to make a pirate boat and we have had a lot of practicing with paper and pencil.

One day while Tinder was out of water, while working hours and hours she saw a bottle named (shrink water). Her was so anxious because it said shrink water. He knew it may happened but he said a prayer. As the first bit of shrink water went in his mouth he was satisfied that he wasn’t shrieked.

I more year later the most beautiful, gorges pirate ship was made. And as she made it he was all good with his boat. She was a great person to ask help because she traveled around the whole earth and still surviving.

Seeing Dr Ben Carson

You know what we have meet Dr Ben Carson! Along with hundred people in a event centre. There where different people from other schools and some important people. We all tried our best to use the Point England Way manners.

Henry entertained us with heaps of things. Suddenly the light went off.. There went the Duffy song. Randomly everyone started singing so I sang along.
Henry presented Dr Ben Carson, with heaps of exitingnes. As he took his first step the place was all noisy and people started whistling. There were heaps of screaming.

I felt really Bord half time. when the show was finished we were given a juice and a apple. I really enjoyed going to the event and learning more about Ben Carson

Duffy Theater

Have you ever had Duffy people coming in your schools? They came in our school. They were amazing doing there acting. Their acting names were Duffy, Scrffy and Marvel. they where very focused like a lion haunting its prey.

This year Duffy was very interesting and creative. They were as good as a bird flying in the air.
My favourite part was when Scrffy talked like a child. It was funny how he kept annoying Duffy. And I cant wait tell next year seeing the next acting?

What Happening in Your Weekends?

This morning when my mobile alarm went ringing in my ear. I quickly grabbed and turned it off.

anxiously I looked at my cloak and it was just 6:00. I was very sleepy so I slept in one hour.

When my mum woke me up at 7:00. I quickly got ready and went upstairs with my brother.
To have warm Milo. I drank it all and went downstairs.

I turned on the TV. Waiting for the right time to go school. I was very excited. I smiled at the clock and rushed to go school. So maybe you could tell me what happened in your weekend?

New Year and New Class

Hi my name is Saadiya, I am ten years old. My birthday is on the 30 September. My nationality is Indian.

This year I am in room sixteen and our teacher is Mr Somerville. Room 16 is a year 6 class in Pt England. My best friend are Jouan, Taeshell. And I have five people in my family, Aziz, Salma are my mum and dad. Shahid Ahmed are my brothers and me.

Whats your Favorite sport?, mine is badminton and swimming. And I like Selena Gomez because she has a great voice. And my favorite movie is H2o standing for water. I like zebras.

My favorite subjects are reading, writing, maths, and art. I like these things because they give me ideas to come up our own way. And become good at everything.

My hobbies are going swimming and Playing super tux on my net book. And riding my bicycle,in the yard and going to the beach. These things are very fun and awesome to try out.
